The Majorca Story

A Brief History

Majorca started out as a crazy spur of the moment idea between two high school students, Luke H and Adam W (hereafter referred to as Lazy Adam.) The story of the team is also the story of Luke essentially. Luke, after moving from Columbus and his friends, was stuck in a new town with nobody that he knew. As a way to meet new people he quoted and quipped jokes from web comics and introduced people them. It was through this path that Luke and Lazy Adam became friends. The two decided to work together and through a bit of sereendipity discovered and selected the name Team Majorca. Shortly thereafter, the two noticed that VG Cats would be holding a contest for a guest strip. Barely reading the rules the two entered the contest with what they thought was a winning comic. They had skipped over the section on using the premade art though and failed. Unshaken the two joined up again on Sketchbattle's forums under the suggestion of current team member Sir James Alvarez. Together. they lost their only battle and doubt on both sides of the team made that their only battle. Afterwards the two decided to instead do webcomics and helmed their first project Super Feudal Communist Russia Team Squad Now! With a set of quirky superheroes and some humorous writing the two seemed posed to take the Internet by storm. The storm never came though as Lazy Adam was too lazy to draw the comic, eventually leading Luke to begin his constant search for a SFCRTSN! artist. Meanwhile, Luke's solo stint on Sketchbattle had led to some friendships with members such as Blazel, RightClickScott, The Routine and more and Luke began to consider making Majorca an organization for webcomic people. The roster spread to old friends and new and eventually Luke saw himself as having done a good job when Mayuzane, internet savant, joined up. Then the team died except for a few projects and occasional editions of the Majorca show. Finally in early 2008, with a web site that had been sitting around dying, Luke began the Majorca rejuvenation project and the rest is history-ish.
