Q: What Is A Team Majorca?

A: In 2007, Team Majorca began humbly. Adam and Luke were two graphic design students who believed they had a good idea for an entry in a comic making contest. Luke wrote and Adam illustrated the story they eventually entered in a contest run by the online webcomic VG Cats. Neither of them had read the rules all that close though. The contest simply required photoshopping pre rendered images and so they were disqualified. Undeterred though, the two began planning bigger and better things. This brief exposure to the process of creating comics for the Internet had left them yearning for more and they were going to get more. Plans soon began for a team on the now defunct SketchBattle website (insulting the opposite team, each insult voted on by the readers). The two pooled together once more with Adam illustrating and Luke writing. Choosing the moniker Team Majorca thanks to a random word generator, they began SketchBattle. Neither of them knew at the time that Majorca was the name of an island off the coast of Spain but it soon became irrelevant. They failed miserably on their first battle and lacked the time to compose another one, or at least the desire.

Luke then began dreaming up a series since the competitive comics market seemed to not suit their teamwork. The comic being written was a superhero parody. It never came to fruition though since Adam was disenchanted by the idea of working together on the project. At this time, Luke realized the team was falling apart and that it was time to recruit some more members.

Team Majorca soon became filled with contacts that Luke knew from around the world thanks to the Internet. They volunteered their works to the aspiring writer and the second saga of Team Majorca began. This version included new features such as" an actual website, actual comics and the first iteration of the Majorca show, a talk show done between the members. The problem was updating since there was no incentive. After 6 months the website slowed down, updates ceased and it stalled indefinitely.

Or at least until November of 2008. With a partial monthly stipend Luke realized the ultimate incentive towards any creator was within his grasp- money. He hired on his first artist for his super hero comic idea and paid another person to design the website based off of his initial idea. Currently the old team is being gathered back together to see if there is any interest left or not. What will happen is unknown.

Q: What else is there to know?

A: Essentially, or if you talk to Luke, you will hear him rant that a majority of the webcomics on the Internet are crap. The Team was restarted to combat that by bringing together people Luke has a good deal of faith in to produce good webcomics. Usually he has been correct.

Q: What makes a bad webcomic?

A: Bad webcomics are foremost caused by blindness. Not in the traditional sense where they can't see but where they can't see their own flaws. They may find their work hilarious when it is bad. They may love their art even though it is hilarious. They made create drama and not listen to people who tell them that the drama does not fit the comic. We here at the team hate each other a bit or will at least complain. Hell, Luke writes a blog critiquing webcomics so he won't likely host bad comics.

Q: Who is currently on the team?

A: Luke "Koltreg" H - Leader of the team and cofounder (hell, THE Founder) of Team Majorca. Currently a web design student, writer for SFCRTSN and several other projects.

Mayahuddin "Mayuzane" Bin Zin - Creator of That's Just Weird and several other comics.

Marc "Blazel" - Illustrator and creator of the mascot Majorcaman and someday, opefully a comic about him.

Jess - Creator of the upcoming Return of Moose.

Ryan - He will do something, probably.

Kevin - Back end programmer, all around good guy.

Q: What about Adam?

A: He's doing something else. He quit the team.

Q: Is this where you start making up silly questions?

A: No, it stops here cliche'd FAQ banter entity.
